Werner Von Braun, an aristocratic engineer obsessed with rocket propulsion, was the chief architect of both Hitler`s feared V-2 rocket and the first successful American satellites and rockets. As a result, he became a celebrity inventor in the United States, despite heavy evidence that he was complicit in Nazi war crimes and used brutal slave labor camps to help fuel his monomaniacal mission to create his mechanical dreams.
